Drainage on top: Hybrid high-rise One Forty West impresses with DACHFIX STEEL
The entire façade of One Forty West in Frankfurt am Main has been equipped with HAURATON’s DACHFIX STEEL drainage solution. The rhythmically structured exterior of the 140-metre hybrid avant-garde high-rise is characterised by clarity and harmony. Despite many other residential tower projects in the city, the luxurious One Forty West is in particularly high demand. There is a lot of popularity for the project, due to the hybrid use of the skyscraper. It includes a hotel with restaurants and sky bar, as well as 187 private flats and penthouses with spectacular panoramic views. Not only that, but it also offers a variety of concierge services. One Forty West is an exciting new addition to the Frankfurt skyline.
DACHFIX STEEL underlines elegant design language
The building with its numerous windows, balconies, terraces and panoramic lounges impresses the outside world with its sophisticated façade design. Its function and design are supported by HAURATON’s DACHFIX STEEL drainage channel with longitudinal bar grating. The channel is mostly made of elegant stainless steel and runs around all building openings.
DACHFIX STEEL drainage system won the selection process, due to it matching the visual and technical requirements that were required by the planners. A uniform design was compulsory for the entire building. The channels needed to have a low overall height, due to the complexity of the building infrastructure. Furthermore, any water that accumulates can be safely collected and drained. The DACHFIX STEEL channels, which are only 45 mm high and 205 mm wide, ensured this was reliably achieved.
High up: drainage on 41 floors
The total quantity of 1,750 metres of DACHFIX STEEL 205 in stainless steel and 750 metres of the same channel type in galvanised material required for One Forty West needed to be delivered… but not all in one go. The partial deliveries always had to arrive in exact quantities, at the same time of installation on the respective floor. There were no interim storage spaces available on site in the city centre. In addition, the way up to the installation locations, had to be managed completely by the lift. Therefore, the lift to the top was always in constant use. However, HAURATON drew on a wealth of experience and organised the partial transfers for each date to the point. HAURATON brought not only the right product, but also the logistical expertise for the complex installation phase, from 2019 to Spring 2020.
HAURATON and DACHFIX STEEL were convincing because:
• function and appearance exactly matched the project
• the channels were available quickly and in sufficient quantity
• punctual deliveries could be guaranteed
• the solution was therefore particularly cost-effective for the planners
