A sealing joint is a gap between two components, or a component and an adjoining finishing layer, which is filled with a sealer. This is used primarily in areas with heavy chemical or biological exposure and is done to prevent noxious substances entering the soil. For this reason it is important to visually examine/test the integrity of the sealing joints on a regular basis and to renew the seals if necessary. This prevents any potential damage.
