channel base
The channel base refers to that part of a drainage channel which collects the surface water. It provides a safe bearing surface for the channel grating, and transfers the imposed loads via the foundations. Different nominal widths and construction heights are installed in accordance with hydraulic requirements. This means that the size of the retention volume of different channel bases varies. Channel bases may contain construction elements that help with the connection to another channel element, a trash box or directly to the canal system. Safety joints integrated in the channel base ensure a tight, sealed fit between channels.
