Roadway drainage refers to the surface drainage of road and traffic ways. In order to ensure the safety of vehicles, precipitation water must be drained off quickly and reliably. The drainage of roadways can take place either parallel or perpendicular to the flow of traffic. However, for safety reasons in the case of heavy traffic loads, drainage is almost always installed next to and parallel to the roadway.
