Bending strength is a characteristic of materials which is determined by 3- or 4-point bend testing. In this test, the test specimen is exposed to both bending and tensile forces. The measured result is the maximum stress that can be absorbed by the material. This maximum stress and the cross-sectional area are used to calculate the bending strength.
